Rumors are circulating that chaining your dog will be against the law in some states. The act of chaining your dog is no longer a responsible act.It may now be perceived as animal cruelty. Actualy it is! I agree completely! From the moment you put a noose or a collar around a dogs neck, is that not an act of cruelty? How about crating your dog? Is not containment, in a small area cruelty? Perhaps a leash correction should be considerd an act of cruelty.
Perhaps your child is indecorous & has a temper tantrum & you spank his or her little bottom, you, a lovng parent may go to jail. After all that is clearly an act of parental cruelty. So if you chain your pup or spank your child both are acts of cruelty. Should you do both on the same day, you may need the services of a criminal lawyer. Depending on the sympathy of the jury, you could do hard time.
Since our laws are drafted by qualified & elected officials, legal changes must be appropriate & benefical to the voters- citizens. Why would I, or any one go against political wisdom & legal convention ?

A week ago, I attended a Staffi Bull function in the city of Glen Cove. The function was @ John & Glenna's home. The party was packed with avid dog people. I was asked to put on a nutritional seminar. However,I felt like doing something a little more up beat. So we did a very basic milling seminar, mostly puppies.
Evey pup ran. The children's faces lit up with joy. Pups & kids, that is a hard combination to beat. I got to meet some new people as well as some old timers I knew previously. Wonderful weather, great food, good people, kids & dogs. A good time was had by all! |

I am looking for skilled cartoonists who would be interested in submitting a variety of renderings. I would like the acceptable cartoons to say "PISS ON PETA". With a Bully Breed urinating on A PETA REPRESENTATIVE or their corporate headquarters etc. These perceptive drawings-renderings will also state, in memory of "Eight BELLES." Once the best cartoons are picked we would consider putting the images on T shirts, hats, flags etc. Any Takers??? |

Fifty four years ago to the day, I watched Roger Banister run a 4 minute mile. It was on an 8 inch RCA T.V. housed in a large, beautifully finished real wood cabinet. (Not plastic junk) At that time my family lived in a 6 family house. The house was down the road from Ebbets field. Several times per week the neighbors would bring lots of food & snacks. We would watch Rin Tin Tin, Lassie & Flash Gordon, I love Lucie, Father Knows Best, Milton Berle etc. In those days you had one 30 second commercial, not like the 6 or more we have currently. |

The following information has been taken from "The Wolves Of North America," Part 1, By Young & Goldman. Pg 214
08-16-1820 "Like The Coyotte, the Wolf is not strictly a Carnivore. On the Red River near the Rocky Mountains, Grapes & Plums, so abundant in this portion of the country, are eaten by Turkies, Black Bears & Wolves" We conclude this from observing plumstones in the excrement of these animals." |

Also known as hard keepers. These problem dogs are present or more frequent in specific breeds. The difficult keeper may have topical wounds sometimes self inflicted or loose stools. Hard keepers may have weight problems caused by food refusal, or excessive stress. In fact, low body weight is the most common issue in dogs that are hard keepers.

Pad injuries are frequent and when serious, heal slowly. Frequently dogs may become very defensive when a pad is injured; often to the point of aggression. Many pad injuries are avoidable.
Our clients dogs do a serious amount of running, pulling and jumping. the result may be pad injuries. We have sold a variety of products to avoid this. However, we were not completely satisfied with the protection afforded. |
