Cesar Milan - Litigation

Mk9 deals with numerous trainers. Some enjoy Cesar's televion show, while others do not care for Cesar or his show. Some take issue with his methods as a trainer - behaviorist. After all, liking or disliking a person is part of human nature & human perception. We have been told more than once that 6 dogs were killed as a result of poor milling practices at Cesar's facility. I have watched Cesar mill dogs on what appears to be slow moving electric mills. You would really have to be extremely neglectful to kill 6 dogs on this type of appliance. Unless they died of bordom, I don't see how you can kill 6 reasonably healthy dogs by milling.

I decided to see what I could find out about the alleged legal issues Cesar was involved in. Upon googling Cesar Milan I found that he is being sued for the death of a black Lab. that may have perished in his facility. He is also involved in an intellectual property law suit. So far this is all the information I have found.

Cesar Milan is a celebrity who has garnerd a wonderful reputation. With his celebrity (which is often the case) may come scam artists, greedy opportunists, disgruntled employees etc.

At this juncture we feel rumor, minutia and accusations should be ignored. It would appear Cesar Milan has helped hundreds, perhaps thousands of dogs. It is this wonderful accomplishment I choose not to ignore.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier has taken this side of the pond by storm. In fact, the breed's popularity has spread to South Africa, Israel and South America. Why? The answer is easily understood.  The Stafford is so trusting with children the breed has earned the nick name 'The Nanny's dog." With the appearance of a P.J. Mene bronze statue, the breed is both pleasing to view or hug. The Staffordshire is a lot of dog in a small package.

Below please find a collection of some of our favorite Staffy pictures. The first is of Champion Elvis, a beautiful black colored staffy who is owned by Stangos Restaurant here in Geln Cove NY. The scond is of one of celebrated breeder Tony George's Staffordshires taking a nap with his friend. The third is another one of Tony's dogs, Little Bug, playing nanny, and seat cushion, to a little girl.

Beware Of Raw Hide Bones & Toys

Many dogs have died due to intestinal blockages from raw hide bones & toys. We @ Martins have never sold raw hide products. We realized their potential danger and chose to avoid them. However, we have sold toys that we felt were safe. We are now aware that the largest strongest toys are still dangerous. With the advent of China capturing the toy segment of the k9 industry the problem has become double edged.

Mk9 has decided to phase out our toy line. This will not include appliances designed for sport work. For example Sleeves, Jute Tugs etc. These types of products tend to be safer. They are made by real dog people for dog sport. In addition dogs are under close supervision while engaged in sport work reducing the danger of a potential blockage.
