Lisa Lange, an employee Of Peta was on the factor last evening. I must say, with great reluctance, Lange was reasonable in her presentation. However, I only agreed with her (in part) on one point. She stated, owning Great Apes is a questionable practice. I have but one proviso. I feel well qualified people keeping Chimps or similar exotics for educational purposes is a wonderful learning opportunity, perhaps benifiting the world. O'rielly is a polemic conservative & in this area his performances are rarely tarnished. "Billy Boy needs to stick with what he is qualified to talk about." Animal issues are a topic Bill should avoid. He appears passionless! People view the factor for facts & most of the time we get factual answers. However, last evening, questions regarding Peta's tax avoidance, the killing & of dogs & cats, sterilization of feral animals, were never mentioned. "Peta got a free ride." Orielly, a fighting Irishman, the nimble word smith took a dive! |

The Peta saga thickens. The claim that follows may support the assumption that Peta's slaughter of innocent companion animals is tied in to big profits & alliances with renderers . A rendering plant in the north east may receive most of New york's deceased dogs & felines. These deceased animals are shipped allegedly to the Valley Protein Co. in Baltimore. My information is based on an article written by Sandra Brigola, accompanied by a quote from a DVM named R.G. Broderick (a L.I. veterinarian) who years ago visited with us @ MK9.

Years ago, I wrote the American Feed Control Officials regarding their guide lines. My letters referred to their allowable percentages of euthanized dogs & cats allowed in dog & cat food. My attempt to have this guide line eliminated & made illegal was referred to the Center Of Veterinary Medicine or CVM. Should you care to read their response, I am in possession of this disgraceful document. |

Wednesday evening, I watched the Cesar Milan show. Cesar was working with a Newfoundland dog named Storm. To treat this pooch's emotional issues Cesar chose a variety of exercises. Swimming, running with a weighted saddle bag & milling on an electric style mill. Most of these movements would be appropropriate exercises for sound dogs. |

For several years, I have kept an article of interest on my desk top. This writing is excellent for reference work. The article is in my view a worthwhile read; written by Chris Zink DVM & it is titled Early Spay-Neuter Considerations For The Canine Athlete. The article in my view under plays the harm done by the the two proceedures. However, that is not the authors intention. Chris Zink DVM is waving a red flag & is saying many problems - side effects exist as a result of early surgeries etc. I feel the two surgeries are (truly) more harmful than the article reflects. You can google this artcle & form your own decision. |

Yesterday morning, I found Wooly Bully, my German Hunting Terrier dead in his kennel. He survived hundreds of quills, Foxes, Coons, Wood Chucks & an attack from a much larger dog. In fact, the only scrap he lost was to Cushings Disease.Wooly Bully was about 17 years old. |
