Last evening I had a chat with the celebrated Rifle-Smith Dan Cowen. Dan & I have a dislike for Elliot Spitzer. In my view, he is a man with a predacious appearance & lofty arrogant personality. Spitzer reminds me of a character in a Buster Crab movie called Ming the merciless. Anyway the conversation switched to David Paterson. Dan felt David Paterson & Mrs. Paterson should have admitted to their affairs prior to the governor being sworn in. I did not agree! I felt Mr. Paterson handled the entire event with (uncommon) class & sincerity.

I felt I had an adequate knowledge 0f recent American-World History. I was convinced my history teachers made a full disclosure of the World's improprieties. Examples: The killing of over one million Armenians by the Turks, the European-American enslavement of Black Africans, the slaughter of the American Indian, the systematic ethnic killing in Europe of nineteen million people by Germany. The slaughter of the Chinese by the Japanese prior and during WW11. Although what follows is on a much smaller scale, it remains a disgraceful American secret.

MK9 is probably the first company to make leather collars with two D Rings. In my view one D ring should be designated for leash control & the other for identification etc. The look is more orderly & adds a handsome appearance to the collar. We have many designs & sizes in stock with both brass & chrome hardware. Our inventory includes Schutzhund agitation collars as well as collars for bully breeds, Mastiffs etc. Colllar widths range in size from an 1.5 to 2.5 inches. We also have a wide variety of matching leashes & harnesses.

Shortly after the essay on the Frenchies was completed, Joe called to say hello. I told him about my experiences avec Les Bull Dogs de Francais.(an attempt @ broken French) It appears Joe a celebrated dog trainer once did bite work with a French Bull Dog. He too was surprised & pleased.

Two other small breeds I am fond of are the Boston Terrier. The second being the Tekel or Miniature Daschund. Having  crossed many dogs over the years It is hard to imagine a more difficult genetic accomplisment! Based on geometry, function and raw courage the Tekel is the greatest dog the Germans have ever bred. This comment is based on the German breeds I have seen. (In my view)

The Tekel's genetic stamp is so deep, regardless of where the dog originated from they will hunt & eagerly dispatch game. I have seen Tekels purchased in pet shops perform with great confidence & courage.

More on the Boston Terrier in the future.

Mark from the west coast called me friday afternoon. I had a room full of people & Al my partner was doing local deliveries. So I was wearing many hats and was unable to give Mark the time he deserved. Apparently a person Mark knows feels our feeding ideology leaves a bit to be desired. I will gladly respond to her/his concerns as long as the issues are based on hard science, not trendy minutia.

Last night I watched a documentry on Joe Louis. Joe Louis was the Heavy weight champion from 1937 to 1949. The documentary inferred that America betrayed Mr. Louis. Allow me try to get things in to a proper perspective. Now, In those days you could buy a nice 3 to 4 bedroom home for $10,000 in NYC. $8,000 per year could nicely support a family of four. Joe Louis frequently earned over $100,000 per fight & fought frequently.

Joe was a high roller & a soft touch. He spent money like a Sailor on liberty. Saved very little and spent more than he earned. Joe had a problem with back taxes which was never satisfied. In 1981 joe was buried in the Arlington National Cemetary, an incredible honor. "I do not feel Joe Louis was betrayed by America." Mr. "Louis had great will power in the ring but none ouside of the square."

Joe Louis was one of the world's greatest athletes. Everyone Loved Joe, including Max Schmeling. Joe Louis was my hero.
