I have observed the Canine fix in two easily identifiable forms 1 The driving desire to talk to a more knowledgeable dog person, in any part of the world at any time of the day or night. The conversations act as a verbal fix. These fixes only satisfy the caller for a short time period. Once the euphoria of the fix wears off, the caller considers either the same person again or possibly pursues a change of medication. 2 The most advanced form of this malady is the uncontrollable desire to acquire pups and or grown dogs that the caller does not need. Often times the caller can't feed and care for the dogs' currently owned. Generally, a new acquisition is the last thing needed. Since this disease has never been previously documented, we could be years away from a cure. The resulting arguments over this disease can lead to domestic problems and even divorce.
