Ten million horses were killed during WW1. Two facilities in Texas & one in Illinois are responsible for 90,000 slaughterd horses per year in the U.S, primarily for human consumption. In 1986 Ferdinand won the kentucky Derby. He was eventually shipped to Japan and served as food for human consumption. This information was furnished by Night Line. |
