About 5 years ago we decided to sell prong collars. For MK9, prongs were for many years an absolute last resort. When a prong collar is properly fitted it is an impressive tool. To allay any concerns that this midevil (looking) appliance is cruel & painful put one snuggly around your bicep and make a correction. You will get nothing more than a pinch. Hence the name pinch collar. Historic evidence supporting the claim that prongs save k9 lives is voluminous. I am certainly not a trainer. However, I have seen situations where a dog was headed for the pound or a second home only to be saved by a properly fitted prong collar. Stick with Herm Springer Prong collars & avoid rubber tips on the prongs, as they negate the correction process. |
