"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkerd by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."
Theodore Roosevelt, a real man & a fine president. However,I must say, Roosevelt was a product of his time. He wore his Germanic - Arian pedigree as if it were a badge of honor. Harboring prejudices against non christians, American Indians, black people etc. Although his history does not reflect imposing harm or genocide on these AMERICAN minorities. His perfomance in my view, was "checkerd" by his personal prejudices.
