MARTIN'S FORMULA, LTD. May 31, 1995 Volker: The responsibility of a dog food company is to manufacture and supply a clean and wholesome product. This product should be rich in calories and as well balanced as current nutritional scholarship provides. A breeder's responsibility is to cull out weakness. The end result should be dogs capable of eating razor blades and producing pups with a similar potency. This blood pool should not be sensitive to rich wholesome food as this is as much a genetic weakness as an orthopedic problem, bad dentition, or poor nerve. Genetics always eclipses nutrition! I can not improve upon what nature has not put in. If my critics are looking for K-9 perfection it does not start in a bag or a box. It begins with a well disciplined breeding program, sound canine husbandry, and a sense of responsibility unaffected by financial gain. Yours in Sport, Martin PS Andy Devlin has told me you implied or inferred Steve Wolfson's pups were fed "Solid Gold". Did this statement originate with you?
