Years ago, I wrote the American Feed Control Officials regarding their guide lines. My letters referred to their allowable percentages of euthanized dogs & cats allowed in dog & cat food. My attempt to have this guide line eliminated & made illegal was referred to the Center Of Veterinary Medicine or CVM. Should you care to read their response, I am in possession of this disgraceful document.
CVM claimed that although their rulings allow for the practice of dogs & cats in dog & cat food, my concerns were exaggerated..... I contacted lawyers, judges, as well as Veterinarians, each & everone promised to help but no one did !! So the occasional leather collar or flea collar will continue to surface in dog food bags. That is unless the Center Of Veterinary Medicine changes their guide lines. The 2nd issue on this days agenda & perhaps the most important is the PETA organization. Once again every one seems to care. However, no one is doing a thing to save the lives of these rescues on a significant level. So, I guess we should sit back and allow the killing of rescued dogs & cats under the guise of Peta's peception of ethical treatment. After all our personal pets are safe ! Much can be done & must be done to save the lives of dogs, cats & America's Deer population. Saving one life @ a time is admirable, but it is not nearly enough. People frequently feel after rescuing a dog or cat that they have done their part. Not So! Peta enjoys our insignificant victories. It relaxes us while they kill hundreds of animals every day. Veterinarians, the ASPCA, The AKC & UKC, the ADBA & breeders all over the USA sit on their fat asses as innocent dogs & cats are killed ! Our complacency & division, will continue to fuel the slaughter of innocent, adoptable pets. We must plan, organize & march ! Perhaps a very organized million dog march, or an old fashioned 5th column movement. Just received a call from Frank Genovese, a friend & customer. Frank wanted to know why I combined 2 essays under one title? My Response is as follows: "I feel a possible conspiracy exists in the acquisition & disposal of euthanized companion animals. It appears deceased pets have an intrinsic dollar value. This intrinsic value may be the reason why CVM wants their ruling on companion animals in pet food to stay on the books. Possibly, Peta is killing our dogs & cats for significant profit & not for pseudo ethical reasons" Perhaps euthanized pets have a considerable dollar value in not only dog foods, but agricultural fertilizer as well. It would appear that Peta & many others involved in the rendering industry are in a very solid financial position. After all their inventory is free ! |
