Idaho's Wolf population has increased in numbers & physical size. During the Grizzly Bear's Winter hibernation. The Wolves enter the bear's dens disturbing their sleep by harassing & attacking them.
In addition, the Elk population is being depleted. The Wolves I am told will kill a Cow, eat her breasts & drink her highly nutritious milk. Perhaps the milk consumed by the wolves is why their physical mass & height is well above their normal size & weight. They leave the dead Elk Cows for the coyottes, which creates other problems. Sadly, Idaho feels the solution will be to implement an extended hunting season for Wolves. This news saddens me, as I have a strong affection for Wolves. This information was furnished by Bob Melville, a NY State Resident, out doors man & a dedicated environmentalist. |
