Feeding your dogs chicken parts on occasion is ok. However, those readers that buy into the Billinghurst Ideology may run into issues. Some examples are oral punctures, choking & a cement like stool. All of which are unhealthy, perhaps deadly. If you feed necks & backs exclusively you reduce the chances of oral punctures. Those that feed weight bearing bones (thigh bones) are risking lacerated gums, cheeks & choking. Raw necks & backs in my view are far safer. In order to off set the cement stool issue, bathing the chicken parts in yogurt with a few table spoons dark local honey, may improve stool transit time & reduce the chalky stools. An old trick of mine requires a meat grinder that will grind Chicken bones. Grind the Chickens rib cage, necks backs & long bones. Transplant reasonable amounts of the tiny bone fragments into ground beef. Your dog should continue to have a formed stool & you are feeding your dog a more species appropriate diet. Toss a raw egg in for good luck!
