The alleged fine nutritional balance touted by major feed manufacturers' DVM's Ph.D.'s does not exist. The people that spread these rumors are prevaricators. Feed scraps, let nothing of nutritional value go to waste. Assuming you have a healthy kennel - feed wholesome leftovers, both raw and cooked!!! Fruits, greens, fish, chicken, pork, starches, and grains.

Think about the scam that has been perpetrated on you and the dogs we love. The average household (about 4 people) is capable of saving 10 to 20% of a dog's monthly ration or intake. This reduces revenues to the manufacturers and may make dogs more resistant to allergy, etc. If dogs are healthier this has a deleterious effect on the veterinarian's and dog food manufacturers income. To compensate for this loss, the manufacturers would once again decrease the size of their dog food bags (even more) and buy less expensive raw ingredients. The veterinarians would have to give boosters monthly instead of yearly. Yearly vaccines do more than enough to harm bone marrow and the lowering of resistance.
