The last act every good dog does is break your heart. A dog is not a unit or commodity! They deserve every consideration and should be loved to the very end.

It is the owner's responsibility to make sure a dog's last days are comfortable. One should shower such a dog with luxuries and attention.

Anesthesia or a bullet are equally humane. Shooting probably more so because with anesthesia the dog must be held down. In addition, there is some needle trauma. If a bullet is well placed, a dog won't hear the blast. The last things a dog should hear are soft words from you.
